Find below a recording of a chart setup webinar that takes you through the chart setup steps also located on this page. You can used the marked times to jump to a specific step.
Click here to get a basic chart layout. This chart layout will be View Only. If you already have a TradingView chart setup that you would like to add the indicator(s) to, skip to Step 4.
Click "Copy" at the top right corner of the chart.
Enter a name for your chart…like Aurora System and click Save.
A Pro account limits your saved charts to 5. If you have a Pro account and already have 5 saved charts, you will need to delete one to create a copy of the above chart. A Pro+ account limits your saved charts to 10. If you have a Pro+ account and have 10 saved charts, you will need to delete one to create a copy of the above chart. Or, you can instead add the indicators to one of your existing charts by starting at Step 4.
Click the Indicators icon at the top of your chart to access the Indicators, Metrics & Strategies menu.
Please note, if you have a D on your chart as shown above, you have delayed data and all your signals will be delayed by 10 minutes. You will need to subscribe to real time data feed. Instructions can be found here: https://newcycletrading.com/get-started
We recommend adding and favoriting the following indicators to your chart in this order to take full advantage of the Aurora System:
On the Indicators, Metrics & Strategies popup window, click Invite-Only Scripts. There you will see a list of the indicators you are currently subscribed to. All indicators, with the exception of the NCTA Divergent Bars + Fractals, require a valid subscription with us.
Clicking on the indicator name will apply it to your chart. Click once on each indicator name you want to apply to your chart.
To add an indicator to your favorites, hover over the indicator word with your mouse. Click the star that appears on the left. This will add the indicator to your list of favorites.
Once you are done adding all the indicators to your chart and favoriting them, close out of the Indicators, Metrics & Strategies window.
On the same Indicators, Metrics, and Strategies window, click "Technicals". Scroll down or search for the indicator you would like to add.
Click the indicator you would like to add, such as Awesome Oscillator, Williams Alligator, Bollinger Bands, or any other indicators you want.
To add an indicator to your favorites, hover over the indicator word with your mouse. Click the star that appears on the left. This will add the indicator to your list of favorites.
Adding all the indicators to your favorites will make them appear under favorites and also in the dropdown menu next to the Indicators menu. Having all the indicators in one place will make any futures chart setup faster.
As a subscriber to the Aurora System, we recommend using the dark color theme shown here.
To change to the dark color theme, click on the circle on the top left hand corner of your chart that has the first letter of your TradingView name.
This will open a drop down menu.
Toggle on "Dark Mode".
If you choose to stay with the light color theme, you will need to make adjustments to the individual settings of Adaptive Entry System and Aurora System in order to see the white and grey bars. If you do not know how to do this, it is recommended that you use the dark color theme.
To bring up the indicator settings, hover over the Adaptive Entry System name on the left hand side of your chart. Click the gear icon to access the AES "Settings". This will then display a popup of the AES Settings.
Under "Style", we recommend unchecking "Large Bar Highlight" for the initial chart setup. The option will be turned back on in a later step.
The settings for each indicator will be different. In the Aurora System settings, you are able to change the mode of the indicator (PBA or CXA), the color of the indicator, whether to show the entry and exit signals, and how much time you want to be alerted before the start of the next bar (requires the Next Bar alert to be set as well).
To bring up the Bollinger Band indicator settings, hover over the BB name on the left hand side of your chart. Click the gear icon to access the Bollinger Band "Settings". This will then display a popup of the Bollinger Band Settings.
Under "Style", we recommend changing the Upper and Lower Bands to white, changing the Basis line to yellow, and increasing the thickness of the Basis line.
These actions can be done by clicking on the color box for each line.
To create multiple chart layouts, click the square icon next to the name of your chart.
For NQ, or any 3,5,10 minute chart, we recommend having a 4 chart layout. 1 chart at the top with 3 side by side charts at the bottom. This is the 5th option next to "4" on the layout options.
For CL, or any other time frames, we recommend having a 3 chart layout with 3 charts side by side. This is the 2nd option next to the "3" on the layout options.
Layouts should be done after you have added all your indicators to the first chart. Doing so will then duplicate your chart for the multiple chart layouts.
A TradingView Pro subscription is limited to 2 side by side charts, Pro + is limited to 4 side by side charts.
Choose what to synchronize between chart layouts. Using the same menu as in the last step, choose at the bottom what you would like to sync on those charts. If it is highlighted blue, it will be synced on all charts of the layout simultaneously.
To show the Aurora System 1min/3min/5min/10min setup on NQ or the 5min/10min/15min setup on CL, you would sync (highlight blue) Symbol and un-sync (no highlight) Interval. The remaining categories are up to you whether you want them synced.
To change the symbol for a selected chart in the layout, click on the chart you want to change and start typing the symbol name.
For example, to change to the next contract for NQ, select the chart you want to change. Start typing NQ. As you are typing a window will pop up and you can manually click through the window to find the desired symbol or just finish typing the full symbol name and hit enter.
As long as Symbol is synced on all charts (Step 10). This action will change the symbol for all charts in the layout.
NQ futures contracts change four times a year. Once a quarter, you will need to change to the next contact, so it is important to remember how to do this step.
To change the time frame for a selected chart in the layout, click the chart that you want to change and start typing the desired time frame.
For the NQ Aurora System setup, click the top most chart, type "1" and hit enter. This will change the top chart to a 1 min chart. Click the left most chart, type "3" and hit enter. This will change the left chart to a 3 min chart. Click on the middle chart, type "5" and hit enter. This will change the middle chart to a 5 min chart. Click on the right chart, type "10" and hit enter. This will change the chart on the right to a 10 min chart.
You can also click on the current time frame on the top left header of the chart to see a drop down menu of available time frames to choose from. Clicking the star on any of those time frames will favorite the time frame and all favorited time frames will show up on the header.
You can add custom time frames to the TradingView drop down menu. Trading view does not have a 10 min time frame as a default option on the drop down menu. To add the 10 minute, scroll to the bottom of available time frames and add the 10 minute by typing in 10, making sure it says "minutes" and click add.
Adjust the size of each of your indicators by dragging the divider between each one. You only need to make these changes on one chart.
Once all the indicator panes are at your desired height, right click on the chart and choose "Apply these indicators to entire layout."
You will need to change the mode to CXA for the 5 minute NQ Aurora System indicator on your chart (10m for CL). This can be done in the indicator settings.
To bring up the indicator settings, hover over the Aurora System name on the 5 minute chart. Click the gear icon to access the Aurora System "Settings". This will then display a popup of the Aurora System Settings.
Under "Inputs", click the drop down menu next to "Mode" and choose "CXA." Click "OK" to save and exit the settings.
Due to a TradingView limitation, viewing a higher time frame on a lower time frame only works if the two time frames are divisible by each other. Since a 5 minute chart is not divisible by a 3 minute chart, we must use a 1 minute chart for our standard NQ chart layout.
This is not necessary for a standard CL layout as the 10 and 15 minute chart are divisible by the 5 minute chart.
Only the Aurora PB Trading System is needed on the 1 minute chart. All other indicators can be removed.
Right click on a blank space on the 1 minute chart and choose "Remove Indicators"
Open the Indicators, Strategies, and Metrics window and add the NCTA Aurora PB Trading System by clicking on it under Invite Only Scripts. Don't forget to mark it as a favorite to make adding it easier in the future. (Refer to Steps 4 & 5 above for how to access the indicator menu)
For the NQ 1/3/5/10 minute chart, the 1 minute chart is only used to host the NCTA Aurora PB Trading System indicator. To free up chart space, we recommend hiding the price bars.
This can be done by hovering on a 1 minute price bar, and choosing the up-down arrow that appears on the right hand side of the chart. This will collapse the 1 minute price bars.
One way to create an alert is to select the chart and time frame you want to add the alert to and hover over the word of the indicator that you would like an alert for. This action will bring up icons to the right of the indicator name. Click on the three horizontal dots (More) to access a drop down menu.
Choose "Add Alert" from the top of that drop down menu. This will pull up a window where you can create your alert for that specific indicator on that specific time frame.
The Alert Setup page will show the specific alert settings for each indicator.
On the alert settings window, scroll down and you will see "More Actions." Here is where you can select to have the alert play a sound.
Your sound settings will be saved from alert to alert. If you create an alert with a sound, the next alert will default to also having that same sound.
Due to indicator upgrades, AES is the only NCTA indicator you can customize the message you receive when the alert is triggered. The other NCTA indicators have the messages hard coded in. However, you can edit the Alert Name. This is the name that will show in the alerts log message column.
You only need to create one Next Bar Alert per time frame.
Due to the Next Bar Alert code, there may be a warning popup after you create an alert. You can ignore this warning and click "Continue anyway". The alerts will not repaint, this warning is triggered by the Next Bar alert code in the indicator but can appear on the creation of alerts for AES and Aurora. You can safely click "Continue Anyway" each time this warning pops up.
If you do not want to see this message in the future, check 'Got it".
Once you have setup all your alerts for each signal/indicator you want alerts on, you can view these alerts in the alert log.
Click on the alarm clock on the right hand side of the chart. This will open a side pane that will show your current alerts and the alert log below that. As each alert is triggered, they will appear in the alert log along with the time they are triggered.
To show only the alerts for the selected charts symbol, click the 3 dots at the top right hand corner of the alert frame and choose "Current symbol". This means if you have ES, RTY, and NQ alerts set, it will only show the NQ alerts when the NQ chart is selected. You can also choose current time frame if you have alerts set on different time frames so that you only see the alerts for the current time frame selected.
Click the gear icon on the top header of the chart to bring up the chart settings.
Select Symbol.
Uncheck thin bars. This will allow the bars to widen as you show less bars at a time.
Do not close out of Chart Settings window, move on to the next step.
On the same Chart Settings Window, choose "Status line".
Change Symbol to "Ticker".
Make sure that "Indicator Titles" is checked.
Uncheck "Indicator Values"
Do not close out of Chart Settings window, move on to next step.
On the same Chart Settings window, choose "Scales".
Check "Countdown To Bar Close"
Uncheck "Plus button"
For Currency and Unit choose "Always Invisible"
On the same Chart Settings window, choose "Appearance".
Optional - Change the Top Margin and Bottom Margin to 25%.
Change the Right Margin to 2.
On the same Chart Settings window, choose "Trading".
Uncheck "Show Buy/Sell Buttons".
Click "Apply to all".
Click "OK".
Once your chart settings are complete, go to the AES settings by hovering over the name Adaptive Entry System on the 3 minute chart.
Choose the gear icon.
Under "Style" scroll to the bottom and check "Large Bar Highlight."
Still in the AES settings window, choose Inputs.
Uncheck any AES signals you do not want to view. In the Live Trading Room we only have the Momentum Signal checked.
Click the ^ icon below the Divergent Bars and Fractals indicator name. This will hide the indicator legend.
Once hidden, click the v2 in the top left of the price chart to show the indicator names again.
Now that your chart is setup, you can save an indicator template for each time frame. This way if your chart is accidentally changed, you can quickly repair it.
Select the 3 minute chart. Click on the four squares to the right of the indicator and choose Save Indicator Template. Name it whatever you want, such as 3m Aurora. Choose Remember Symbol and Remember Interval.
You can repeat the same actions with the 5 minute and 10 minute chart.
Whenever you need to create a new chart or fix your current one, you can pull up your saved indicator template to replace the affected chart.
Scroll the right side icons until you reach the question mark at the bottom. Clicking the question mark will bring up TradingView's most frequently asked questions.
If you can not find your answer, choose "My support tickets" and "Open Ticket".
Always save your chart after you make changes. Your chart will automatically save every 5 minutes, To manually save the chart, click the dashed cloud icon. If the cloud has a checkmark in it, your chart is saved.
